Natural light portrait photography captures authentic, soft, and flattering images by using ambient light creatively, without artificial lighting equipment.
One way I can keep my operating costs down, thereby passing along the savings to the portrait customer, is to utilize the natural light available outdoors among the many beautiful backdrops God has given us. The Upstate of South Carolina is chock full of gorgeous scenery readily available for use in portrait photography. I have over 40 years of experience reading nature’s light and knowing just how to direct my patrons to capture exquisite images that they will enjoy for years to come.
My home base of Anderson County has a plethora of great backdrops – Anderson’s beautiful downtown buildings with historic charm and color, Lake Hartwell’s stunning views and greenery, Pendleton’s historic square… the list goes on. Nearby to Anderson is the South Carolina Botanical Gardens and Clemson University which offers dozens of gorgeous backdrops. Why would I subject myself to full days of being stuck in a photography studio shooting stiff portraits with fake backgrounds when God gave me all of this?
